Momoya's "Spicy Mentaiko Nori" 95g is a seaweed tsukudani made with a focus on Japanese ingredients, combining high-quality Japanese aosa nori and spicy cod roe made from Hokkaido pollock. Two types of mentaiko are used: "raw" and "grilled". The raw type is mixed in from the beginning of the seaweed simmering process to give it a deep flavor, while the grilled type is designed to give it a different texture. The spicy spiciness, the umami of the mentaiko, and the flavor of the seaweed are in perfect harmony, making it a great accompaniment to rice, as well as a wide range of other arrangements such as pasta, rice balls, and toast.
