What are Shrimp Bites?

Golden and crisp, the Shrimp Bites are a cherished bite of Brazil's culinary fusion.

Its roots trace back to European influences — especially Portugal and France — where small, breaded pastries filled with savory delights were common. But in Brazil, these little pockets of joy took on new life. Along the coast, where fresh seafood is a way of life, cooks began filling them with seasoned shrimp in a creamy béchamel-inspired sauce, creating a treat that was both refined and full of local flavor.

Usually served at birthday parties, cafés, or passed around on trays at celebrations, the Shrimp Bites became a symbol of Brazilian hospitality. Crispy on the outside, creamy and brimming with shrimp inside — it's a snack that blends tradition, creativity, and the bounty of the sea.
