The smaller pieces also make a difference when frying. I personally only buy from the I-Mei brand because it's made in Vietnam. Next time, I'll stick with Taiwanese and mainland Chinese products.

It's not tasty at all. The texture is okay after air frying; it's not too dry and has some layers, but it really has no flavor. Not even a hint of sesame paste. It tastes like chewing flour. Plain steamed buns are a million times better. I ate one and then threw the whole bag away. If you want to try something bad, go ahead and buy it, haha.

I air-fried them at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes, flipping them three times in between. The sesame paste flavor was barely noticeable, but the five-spice powder flavor was very strong. You could see the layers forming inside, and my family loved it.
