I was planning to cook a meal with some delicious rice. I received my delivery today, but when I just went to the supermarket, it was $29.99. I bought it for $40. It’s a bit upsetting that there’s a $10 difference.

I purchased this on August 13, 2026. The rice I received was milled on November 26, 2025, meaning it had already been milled about eight months prior to purchase. I understand that Japanese rice sold overseas takes time to circulate, but since this product was labeled "new rice" and cost $34.99 for 5kg, I expected a more recent milling date. I contacted customer service, but they replied that "it's stored in a quality-controlled environment, so there's no problem," and I couldn't return it. I think it would be much more reassuring if the milling date was available before purchase.
