The first time I ate natto, I used the included sauce packet, and honestly, it was too salty and unpalatable; I threw away half the box. Later, after adding my own sauces—Costco sesame paste from Taiwan or Tao Ban Wu mustard sauce—it made a huge difference. It became very delicious, and the beans had a slightly alcoholic flavor, which I, who don't like alcoholic flavors, could accept.
