It's not a "sharp, salty umami" type, but rather: It has a rich bean flavor, a deep color, and a lingering, savory taste, perfect for dipping sushi, teriyaki, mixing with rice, or reducing sauce when pan-frying beef. This is a very tasty and good soy sauce that gives any and all dishes it is made with a good extra bit of kick without overpowering the flavor and also the style of the dish. I happen to like it as well because it is reduced sodium and I can have it for dishes as I happen to be a type 2 diabetic. It was extremely tasty in a stir fry dish.
There is a difference between the photo and the real thing, I hope they are the same
