I didn't expect such a big bag to last so long.
It's a really big bag; it'll probably expand even more after soaking.
It was so thin that it seemed like a sheet of paper, so I couldn't use it for soup, but I made it into kelp pancakes and it was delicious.
I'm impressed that I can buy kelp of this quality in the US!
This is my first time buying some very large pieces of kelp. They should be perfect for making braised dishes.
Kelp is the best for making broth!
It is written that the kelp knot is flaky when opened, and it is quite clean. This does not matter, it is not very fishy.

I used it for the festival. Normally I would use fish such as herring, but since my family doesn't like fish, I tried wrapping it in beef. It was flavorful and delicious.
Perhaps because it is a natural kelp, it was narrower and thinner than regular dashi kelp. I ate it wrapped in kelp. Soft kombu rolls are ready.

It's not a special ingredient in Japan, but it's nice to be able to eat it easily even in America. You can easily enjoy it by adding a pinch to soba noodles or a pinch to miso soup. If you like umami, richness, and thickness, it's worth trying. Since it's just a side dish, a small amount at a time is sufficient.
