My kids love things like ohagi (rice cakes) and oshiruko (sweet red bean soup). I freeze them thinly in Ziploc bags and break off just the amount I need.

I bought this again because it was delicious last time! It's not too sweet and not cloying! It's a bit too thick to put on mochi dumplings, so I thinned it out before using it.

It seems to have fewer grains than the canned version.
I made dorayaki with red bean paste. It had a smooth texture. The only downside was that it was a little too sweet for me. You could add some cooked red beans without added sugar to balance it out.
