I bought it to make udon noodles or soba; it's super useful and convenient.

I've been using it since I was in Japan and I've repurchased it on Weee!

Really flavorful and convenient shiro dashi! It adds a nice savory umami taste without being too overpowering. I’ve used it for soups, noodles, sauces, and Japanese-style dishes, and a little goes a long way. Great pantry staple and very easy to use.

This white dashi is reasonably priced and very versatile.

This is quite different from Kikkoman. The bonito flavor is very strong; Kikkoman is more like bonito soy sauce, while this has a very light and fragrant bonito flavor, which I like. Both are good, but those who prefer a strong bonito flavor will like this one, as Kikkoman's bonito flavor is much milder. It's great added to hot pot, noodle soup, donburi, or blanched vegetables.

It was neatly and carefully packaged in the plastic containers sold in Japan. Tokyo Central also sells the glass bottle version, but this one was cheaper and had a longer shelf life

This daishi packet reminds me of all my visits to Tokyo and Fussa, where small ramen karts rule. The flavor pops and is very delicious. I will be keeping a stock in my pantry for life.

It had an artificial smell, like cheap crab crackers, and was not tasty at all. There was no hint of miso either. It was a far cry from the taste of crab hotpot you get in Japan. I added kelp stock, sake, miso, soy sauce, and even a lot of scallops as a stock, and it finally became edible.

I like to use Daiso hot pot base for soup. I used the Crab Daishi and Miso base to make a fish ball soup. It is a very flavorful soup starter to make a quick and easy soup.

A tad too salty, but very delicious. It was especially good for cooking vegetables for a hot pot. Great for cooking dumplings, too. The miso really shines through.

the texture is milky, it has a sweet and salty flavor. probably the crab that make it sweet. it doesn't need too add any other seasoning, unless you want it spicy, put some ichimi with the soup, yumm.

I bought Ninben for the first time. This one has a milder flavor and suits my family better. I only recently found out that my parents also use Ninben at home.

I've bought this many times. It's incredibly versatile for Japanese cuisine, so I find it very useful.
