I couldn't wait for the price to drop; it was already a pretty good deal, with a thin crust and plenty of filling.

The skin is very thin and the filling is plentiful, but the taste is not as good as the steamed Shanghai bok choy paper-wrapped buns.
Thin-skinned and generously filled, the filling of greens, dried tofu and bamboo shoots is refreshing and delicious.

The quality of the ones I bought recently has dropped drastically. Every time I open the lid after steaming, I can barely smell the brown sugar flavor. I guess they're using food coloring and white sugar now. In contrast, this one has the best of both worlds: a strong brown sugar flavor after steaming. I won't buy this one again.

So easy to prepare. Just heat them up and serve. Hold together great. They don’t fall apart even with the sauce. They also hold a good amount of filling so not to feel deprived after one bite.

This baiji bun is one of my all-time favorites. Stew a pot of pork belly in it, then add green peppers and cilantro for a classic roujiamo (meat-filled bun) experience!
