This is a must in our pantry - quick, convenient, delicious! Just sprinkle the packet on warm rice, pour water. We topped it with 명란/mentaiko (pollack roe) this time but grilled salmon, mackerel, or quick pickled cucumber are on rotation. It also works as is, without any of the traditional toppings. Especially great when you don’t have an appetite or the energy to cook but want a satisfying meal. 8 individual serving packets in a bag.
This is my favorite type of rice porridge.
Cold ochazuke (rice with tea poured over it) is delicious in the summer. You can also make Japanese-style oatmeal by adding ochazuke seaweed and hot water. It's quite tasty! Please give it a try!
