When you really crave ramen or abura soba, adding this to soy sauce-based soup will give it richness and umami, instantly making it taste like the real thing (in Japan)! It also adds a nice sheen, so it's great for teriyaki too.

I love soaking these guys in hot broth to make it happen. They’re perfect as I want to eliminate both steps - storage and chopping. If you want to make it into smaller bits - break tinier when dry.

This fermented soybean paste has a really authentic flavor; it's delicious when used to make twice-cooked pork. It's a large bottle and will last a long time.

Delicious, bought many times

I always buy from them because they taste good and I'm satisfied. But this time, I was very disappointed (I only ordered them 5 days later). They had a strong rancid oil smell, which made them seem stale. However, the expiration date was clearly stated as January 6th, 2027, so they weren't expired yet! It's probably due to improper storage by the seller. What a pity!

This is too sweet, but it's alright.

I'm particularly concerned that the packaging doesn't indicate an expiration date.
